Windows in Dubai do a harder job than almost anywhere else: 45°C summers, direct sun for most of the day, fine desert dust, and air conditioning running on the other side of the glass. That is why every Makfold window is built from thermally-broken aluminium profiles — a polyamide insulating barrier inside the frame that stops outdoor heat conducting through the metal — paired with double glazing with a low-E coating as standard. Compared with old single-glazed aluminium or uPVC frames that discolour in UAE sun, a thermally-broken system keeps rooms noticeably cooler and cuts what your AC has to fight through the glass.

The right opening style depends on the room. Hinged (casement) windows give the biggest clear opening and the tightest seal when closed — the best choice for bedrooms and majlis rooms where you want quiet and airtightness. Sliding windows save space where a swinging sash would hit furniture, and suit wide kitchen and balcony openings. Tilt & turn windows do both jobs: tilt inwards a few degrees for secure night ventilation, or swing fully open for cleaning — which matters on upper floors where the outside face is hard to reach. Fixed panels cost the least per square metre and are the smart choice wherever you want light and a view but never need to open — stairwells, double-height hallways, and the glazing around a front door.

Details decide how a window feels five years in.
